Mini Monsters - Case Study


Q Office Furniture was approached by a new start-up company, Mini Monsters, to help them develop an empty warehouse building into a fully furnished, colourful and vibrant children’s soft play zone. The key areas to create being a canteen area, private party rooms and a locker area.

Whilst this was an unfamiliar brief for us, discussions with our manufacturing partners and the large array of products available to us, gave us confidence that we would deliver the vision that our client had.

With a budget of £25,000 we were given the freedom to select products that would complement the planned décor whilst still serving a practical purpose. It was vital that we optimised the available space to fit as much seating as possible into the selected areas, to seat the maximum number of customers, whilst still retaining enough ‘breathing space’ for family movement and comfort.

It was important that the products were sufficiently robust to stand up to the constant and potentially rough handling every day from the children using the facilities, as well as creating an exciting visual environment to add to the user experience.

For the downstairs canteen zone, we chose 98 stackable canteen chairs in a mixture of green, yellow, blue, orange, purple and flamingo pink. These chairs come with a polished chrome base and are tested to international strength standards. To go with the chairs, we selected 31 canteen tables in white with edging colours to match the chairs. Completing this area were 6 breakfast bars, all in white with matching coloured edging.

Upstairs in the private party rooms, we installed 8 table and bench sets with matching coloured framework to create continuity throughout. The benches featured fully welded frames for extra stability, as well as high impact resistant edges and easy clean surfaces.

To complete the installation was a bank of 27 lockers in various sizes, encased in a black carcass with a mixture of red, green, yellow, blue and smoke white door colours.

The installation process went smoothly without any problems and came in under budget. The feedback from our client was extremely positive;
